This photo was taken today after about three hours of waiting for the light and the bird. I was under the New Salem Hwy bridge that crosses the Stones River in Murfreesboro TN.
Since I had the time to wait for the light I wanted, I didn't have to edit the photo much, and although it isn't one of the most spectacular photos I've taken, it still is what I expected tonight. Of course, if I had a 400mm lens things would have looked differently, but since there was no other way to get closer to the spot where the bird was standing, that's about as close as my 200mm f/2.8 lens could get.
You can see the original, unedited photo here. Although the bird seems to be the focus of the photo, the reason why I like this photo enough to post it on The Obvious, is the way the trees are reflected in the water... the bird was just a bonus ;)
As some of you read in my last post, I recently started posting photography tips on Twitter via @titusbartos. I must confess it's harder than I initially thought it would be, but with time I'll find a way to formulate a solid, helpful, and interesting tip in just 140 characters. So, if you are a twittadict, feel free to follow, spread the word, and send me your thoughts on how I am doing.
Twitfully yours,
Titus
